The Garden On The Balcony
After Daniel moved to the city, he missed the big green garden at his old house.
His new flat was small, and it did not have a garden. But it had a little balcony. One sunny Saturday, Daniel had an idea. "I am going to grow my own plants here," he said.
He went to a shop and bought some pots, brown soil, and a few small plants. He also bought seeds for tomatoes because he loved fresh food. The man in the shop gave him good advice. "Give them water every day, and they will grow," he said.
At home, Daniel put soil in the pots and planted the seeds carefully. Then he watered them and put them in the sun. Every morning, before work, he looked after his little plants.
At first, nothing happened, and Daniel was disappointed. But he did not give up. He kept watering them every day.
Then, one morning after two weeks, he saw something small and green in the soil. The seeds were growing! He was so happy that he took a photo and sent it to his family.
The weeks passed, and the plants grew bigger and bigger. In the summer, Daniel had red tomatoes and beautiful flowers on his balcony. The little space was now full of life and colour.
His neighbour saw the plants and smiled. "Your balcony is lovely," she said. "Can you teach me?"
Now Daniel and his neighbour grow plants together. Gardening is his new hobby, and he is very proud of his small green garden in the big city.
